Design

In the 1990s, Mepra built up a network of collaborations with some of the most influential designers. These included Angelo Mangiarotti and a number of other talented young avant-garde designers who still work for the company full time or on a project basis. Research and development costs now account for around 8% of turnover, one of the highest ratios in the industry.

History

Mepra stands for "Metallurgica Prandelli" and was founded in Italy in 1947. However, the history of the Prandelli family business began many years earlier, when the founders built a new and modernized factory to produce aluminium and brass cutlery. Later, Mepra also began producing silver-plated cutlery and hollowware. For the new collections, stainless steel was combined with new materials such as plastic, glass, wood and porcelain. The sales results were so good that in 1992 Mepra decided to open a new factory dedicated exclusively to the production of plastic.

Sustainability

For many years, Mepra has been concerned about the environment and the sustainable use of environmental resources. The company invests and focuses on ever safer equipment and searches for materials and auxiliary products to ensure the safety and health of workers and the community in which Mepra operates.
